Why we started Voci di Famiglia
Our grandfather had a whole life of stories. The war, his first job, how he met our grandmother. He told them at the table, on Sundays. Then one day he was gone, and words nobody had ever written down went with him.
We remember them in pieces, and every year another piece goes. We decided we did not want that happening to other families. So we started Voci di Famiglia: a simple way to gather the stories of the people you love and turn them into something that stays.
A book on the shelf. A recording to watch again in twenty years. Something your children can pick up when they need it.
The Voci di Famiglia Method
We do not run interviews. We have guided conversations. The interviewer follows a method that works, one that brings out the memories that count: childhood, love, dreams, regrets. There is nothing to prepare, and nothing you have to remember in advance. You sit down and you talk.
The interviewer knows when to press on a detail and when to let a silence run. They know the best stories arrive when you least expect them, somewhere between a cup of coffee and a memory you thought had gone.
What comes out is not a list of facts. It is the voice of a person, in their own words, with their turns of phrase and their feelings. All of it gathered in a book the family can read for generations.
