How Voci di Famiglia works
Turning memories into a book is simpler than it sounds. You tell us the story you want to keep. We do the rest.
You tell us the story you want to keep
It starts with a fifteen minute call. You tell us who you want to remember, why the story matters to you, and what you would like to hold at the end. We listen, and we tell you the best way to do it.
We ring you, at whatever time suits you.
The session: two hours of memories
An experienced interviewer guides the conversation, over video call or on the phone, and does it gently. It is not a questionnaire: it is a conversation that follows the thread of memory, with questions built to bring out what really counts.
Nothing to prepare
The questions bring the memories out on their own. The best stories arrive when you least expect them.
How the video call works
We send a link, you click it, and you are connected. A phone or a computer is enough. The interviewer handles everything else. It works just as well with people who have never got on with technology.
We turn the memories into a book
After the session we transcribe every word. Then we edit the text so it reads well, without ever changing the meaning or the tone of the person telling it. We lay it all out as a book of at least sixteen chapters, with a cover made for the story.
How long it takes
Between two and twelve weeks from the session to the finished book, depending on how much comes out of the interview and how many photographs there are to place. We keep you posted at every stage.
The revision
Before printing, you get the text to read. You can ask for changes, additions or corrections. One full revision is included.
From the conversation to the finished book
A family treasure arrives
A few weeks later the book arrives at your door, with the story of the person you love inside it. Along with the book you get the eBook to share with the whole family, and the recording of the conversation. We ship abroad too, wherever the family happens to be.
